Sol Scott - Men's artistic gymnastics

day in.

the life.

This is what chasing the Olympic dream actually looks like — not the highlights, but the hours in between. Every meal, every rep, every recovery decision building toward LA 2028.

ADMIN

the other job

Being a professional athlete isn't just training. Emails, sponsor communications, social content — the business of being Sol Scott runs alongside the sport.

12:00

SESSION ONE

INTO THE GYM

Three hours of technical gymnastics work. Apparatus, skills, routines. The kind of repetition that turns difficult things into automatic things. This is where Olympic medals are built.

KINETICA ENERGY SHAKE

Carbohydrate drink · mid-session fuel maintain quality and effort

TRAINING SHORTS - 4-CE

When you’re putting your body through what I put mine through every day, what you wear isn’t an afterthought — it’s part of the kit. The 4-CE shorts move with me, not against me.  I don’t think about them during training. That’s exactly the point.

15:00

RECOVERY

REFUEL & RESET

Then a proper lunch — the kind of meal that has to work hard. Enough to restore what the morning took, without weighing down what the afternoon demands. Fuel that has to earn its place on the plate.

17:00

SESSION TWO

BACK TO WORK

Another three hours in the gym — repair work on the details, refinement of the skills from the previous session, and enough time left to push into the extra bits and pieces that separate good from elite.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays this shifts to strength and conditioning — the unglamorous part of gymnastics that makes everything else possible.

S&C Days (Tue / Thu / Sat)

Targeted strength work built around the demands of men's artistic gymnastics — grip, core, shoulder stability, explosive power. The kind of training that doesn't make the highlight reel but shows up in every skill.

20:00

EVENING

HOME & WIND DOWN

Dinner, whatever Mum's cooking — home food is real food, and real food is part of the programme. Then one last thing before lights out — my protein yoghurt. It’s become as automatic as setting the alarm. A small thing at the end of a long day, but the body doesn’t stop working just because I’ve stopped moving. It’s the last bit of fuel I give it before sleep does the rest.

HOME COOKED DINNER

The most important meal of the day

PROTEIN YOGHURT

Slow-release casein - overnight recovery

Why protein before bed?

Casein protein digests slowly overnight - meaning muscles are still being repaired and rebuilt while I sleep. It's one of the simplest high-return habits in the programme.

23:30

LIGHTS OUT

SLEEP IS TRAINING

A good night's sleep is non-negotiable. Everything that happened in the gym today consolidates overnight - sleep is the most underrated part of elite sport. I protect it.
